Hawaii 5-0 We are going!

Hawaii 5-0 We are going!

As it turns out Hawaii 5-0 isn’t such a bad way to learn about Hawaii. The show features breath-taking views across the different islands and explains tons of cultural rules regarding ¬†foreigners compared to locals.

Either way, my girlfriend’s amazing resume and negotiation¬†tactics gained her an offer for 6 months in Molokai, Hawaii. For those of you that read through my other pages, at one point I mentioned the research on the top 5 places she had in mind. Not only did I put the word out amongst friends, I also actively researched. As a result, I was way more prepared when I found out about Hawaii then if I had not done any leg work.

To make a long story short, being aware of the employment climate there allowed me to prepare in time to apply for a course as a substitute teacher. It turns out there is a huge need for teachers. I just explained that in two sentences but it took weeks of research, phone calls and pure determination. Her friends threw her a going away party and that’s us celebrating in the photo. My lovely nurse went ahead for her orientation while getting situated and I am leaving within the week.

I have also done everything thing else that I have posted about in the hopes of having multiple streams of income. I will post more as I begin to travel and document my experience.

  1. Thank you Mario, I will be posting within a couple of days. Molokai is 35 miles long and 10 miles wide. I have spent my first week navigating through the local offices and protocols as a new resident and it has been amazing. There is so much to tell.

  2. Spot on with this write-up, I really suppose this web site needs much more consideration. In all probability I can learn way more, thanks for that info.

  3. My spouse and that i are now delighted that Albert could perform his studies thanks to the strategies he had by your web page.

  4. Thank you for your feedback. I really appreciate it. It has been a difficult ride at times but well worth it now that I have experienced it. My goal is to make it easier for others.

    Keep in touch!

  5. We will be in Molokai next week from 10/27-10/30. We would love any tips or advice you can give. We are staying in a bungalow on the beach in Pukoo. We have a rental car reserved. We are hopping from Maui, to Molokai, to Honolulu(1night) to Kauai and then back to Maui before flying home. We are celebrating our 25th anniversary.
